How it works

This program is built for dedicated young cyclists who want to push themselves within the sport. We’ve found our program best suits juniors who commit to cycling as their dominant sport, and we also seek positive attitudes, good work ethics, and riders who understand and care about their teammates. Athletes must be at least 13 years old to apply.

Cycling is an expensive sport, so we understand this is important place to begin.

OZ Development is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization built to provide a racing platform for elite level juniors in our region. Our non-profit status allows us to receive charitable contributions, and our fantastic sponsors allow us the means to underwrite a considerable amount of expenses for our staff, travel, and race platform support.

There will be costs for each family to race bikes, but we try our best to minimize those to make the racing platform more accessible.

Just like the cost of a bike can differ tremendously based on the level of the bike, the cost of being on the team will vary depending on the level of the athlete. For example, Cat 1 riders receive more support than a beginning Cat 3 rider. Some camps or clinics will be fully covered for athletes, while some will have fees associated with participation. Please see the chart at the bottom of this page.

Races all have entry fees, and most riders will assume this cost, as our program is not large enough to cover race entries for all. It’s the same with cycling kits, apparel, and travel.

While we support our athletes adding additional races to their own calendar, these are the races where OZ Devo will provide full support to our racers with staff involvement, the team tents and trailer, and mechanical/race director support.
